The Red Apple Series and Serendipity Series of Still Life Photography
My Red Apple Series and Serendipity Series still life photography were produced in the months of October and November, 2024 during my visit to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria.
They're tabletop photographs shot with the camera of my smartphone using only the inanimate objects in my bedroom.
The objects are the red apple with a golden ring I created; beads from a necklace, rings I made with ribbons, books and pages of old issues of The Economist newsmagazine, the Supply Management magazine and catalog of The Barber Art Institute and brochure of the University of Birmingham, UK.
I made compositions with the placements and arrangements of the objects to tell stories in interactive narratives and perspectives.
About my art and photography
My artworks of drawings, etchings, paintings and photographs are conceptual, intellectual and spiritual in the themes of the content and context of the subjects using available objects and instruments.
My artworks have been exhibited in Nigeria and Japan since 1983.
My illustrations on rural farming in a Nigerian village were exhibited at two international book fairs for children's books and books for young people in Japan in 1983 through the UNESCO and I produced illustrations for national projects for the UNICEF in Nigeria and I was the co-curator and national coordinator for the first Art Against AIDS art exhibitions at the National Museum and National Theatre for the World AIDS Day in Nigeria in 1993. All my drawings and painted were sold from $1, 000 - $5, 000, including "The Metamorphosis of the HIV in the T-Cell" collected by Family Health International (FHI) and the "Eruption of the Love Virus".
They are available on art canvas from 2ft to 4ft sizes.
I created almost all of them inside my bedroom in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Price from S$500 without frames.
Printed on art canvas within 7 days and signed originals to be delivered by DHL or UPS within Nigeria.
